Adventure Racing - Wakeboard Champion, Shaun Faccio, joins sister Gina on Billabong team

Billabong South Africa welcomes Shaun Faccio, the reigning SA Wakeboard Tour Pro Men’s champion, to the best team of board riders in Africa.
Shaun, 21, from Bedfordview in Gauteng finished fifth in the Europe, Africa and Middle East (EAME) championships at Emerald Casino in February. A 12 year veteran of the wakeboarding scene, he runs the Vaalside Riders wakeboard school on the Vaal Dam where many of Europe’s top exponents train during the Northern hemisphere winter.
Shaun joins his sister Gina who has been a fixture on the Billabong team for the past 18 months. The 18 year-old University of Johannesburg Civil Aviation student has been wakeboarding since she was 12 and is gunning for a fifth straight SA Pro Ladies title at the end of April.
Gina also won the 2008 EAME Junior Ladies division earlier this year, leading to an invitation to compete in the US Masters International in Atlanta, Georgia at the end of May where she will be the only representative from Africa.
“I’m excited about the joining Billabong and proud to be a member of such a great team,” says Shaun, whose radical riding has appeared in numerous boating magazines and three times in the SA Sports Illustrated.
“Billabong is proud to have signed up such a talented Wake family!” says Billabong SA Team Manager, Ryan Payne. “We have the best surfers, skaters and snowboarder in Africa and now the best wakeboarders.”
